Taking place in Chichester Yacht Club on October 6, 2022, the symposium will be a unique opportunity to learn about the recent research undertaken by RedPol (reduction of project on the prevalence and significance of endocrine disruptors in Chichester Harbour and the wider English Channel.
This symposium seeks to draw the findings of this research together along with closely related research from other universities and organisations to further understanding of the issues, identify shortfalls in knowledge, raise awareness and embark on the journey to solutions.
Key speakers are prof. Christophe MINIER – Professor of Biology at Université Le Havre Normandy and RedPol Project Leader; prof. Alex FORD – Professor of Biology at the University of Portsmouth experienced in aquatic toxicology including endocrine disrupters, plastics, nanoparticles and pharmaceuticals; and Dr Susanne VOGELER – Senior Research Associate, Faculty of Science & Health, School of Biological Sciences, University of Portsmouth. Other members of the RedPol project will also be present to answer questions and engage in discussion during the symposium.
The conference will be chaired by Lucy Siegal – UK based journalist, broadcaster and opinion leader who specialises in climate and nature coverage.
